Title: Listing on the Android Market
Post by: Paul on December 18, 2011, 12:20:08 PM
Well, I've published them.  Should take a few minutes for Google to update their search indexes (assuming I didn't do something wrong - the process was fairly complicated.

I hope so. :)
SToid, an Atari ST emulator was released in October and you can't find it under it's name till today.  :-\
You must search under "Atari". Is it possible to set search taggs on market ?

I don't see anywhere to put search terms (I'll do a little more digging).  I've already had 3 purchases though (one each in Mexico, Brazil, and Chile).  It is still not listed when I search, but the fact that SOMEONE found it means it must have been listed somewhere, haha.  I'll give it a while longer to see what happens.

Yes, I'll give future test builds a different package name, so they don't conflict with the Android Market release.  And the market will complain if you try to purchase it when its already installed.

Just a heads up, the picture of my xperia play looks a bit funky in the app listing.

https://market.android.com/details?id=paulscode.android.mupen64plus.xperiaplay#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwicGF1bHNjb2RlLmFuZHJvaWQubXVwZW42NHBsdXMueHBlcmlhcGxheSJd

Its in landscape and has a coloured border around it. (I cant tell what colour it is because im colour blind)

Does the verizon xperia have the unchangeable auto brightness too? When I updated to 2.3.4 it gave me the option to disable it.

2.3.3 gave me the option to disable auto brightness and that is at full brightness. the camera flash made it look dim :P

Just a heads up, the picture of my xperia play looks a bit funky in the app listing.

I think it did that because it isn't actually a screenshot (it was expecting a particular resolution).  I can change this to a different one if it looks too funky (unless you can think of a good way to get it into an image with the following supported dimensions: 320 x 480, 480 x 800, 480 x 854, 1280 x 720, or 1280 x 800.

I changed it to another one for now.  I can always swap the images out with better ones.  Might take a while to be updated in the listing, though

Well if you ever want to use that image I re-uploaded it in a 480x800 resolution :)

EDIT: I think the android market got confused with my image because the width was the same as the hight so it didnt know wether the image was in landscape or portrait.

Haha, I'd be fine if there aren't any more.  It will get people interested, that's the main thing.

Ive been trying to advertise your emulator on various sites like XDA and reddit. :)

I updated the development thread on XDA and Created a new thread announcing the release in the apps section.

Thanks, I'm mainly hoping to get some developers interested.  At any rate, $3 a day will be enough to cover my coffee!

No worries.  The project will continue on whether or not more developers arrive to lend a hand.  I'm having a lot of fun with it (it's very rewarding to see the results of you're work running on somebody's phone..)

Yes, I noticed a sudden jump in purchases (it might not update very often).  Up to 14 now!

Woa, make that 40.  And 9 refunded.  Ok, I better get back to programming and stop watching the merchant console, haha!

Thanks, to everyone who has donated!  Probably the first thing I better buy is a new internet hosting service, before that database bug rears its ugly head again..

One cool thing is that I get statistics on crash reports with a stack trace.  This seems to be popping up a lot, which amuses me (it means someone disabled the input plug-in then pressed a button ;D)
