General Discussion / Re: 3.0 Alpha Testing
« on: May 10, 2015, 11:49:18 AM »
just downloaded the latest master, retroben mentioned, on nexus player. This version didn't resume to home, like the version I testet before.
One big problem is, that I can only choose and start a game from the gallery, if I use a mouse. I can't access the games and the sidebar menu with the remote controller or gamepad.
In the game, it's impossible to go back to menu, because only the upper statusbar opened. No menu access. So I must kill the app and restart it.

Maybe I'm to stupid, but can't copy/share the hardware info on NP. I can't copy to clipboard or have another option. Only option is to ESfile-Explorer, but it isn't saved anything. Any ideas ?

A short video of the menu problem:

Are there any plans to make the alpha 3.0 ui compatible to Nexus Player / ATV in the next time ?
Would be perfect to have all the new fixes and the gallery on TV.
A gamepad profile for the Asus Nexus Gamepad would be nice too.  :)

Alpha 19 looks like this on Nexus Player.
Another problem is, the NP remote controller has no menu-button. But that problem seems related to the NP firmware and affects other apps too.

Hello, I'm having some strange issues with the nexus player. I can't seem to get the action bar to show up, so there is no way to change settings or scan for games. Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Same here. I've tested the APK from first post with the same result and version: master "2015-04-20 16:02" - autobuild.

Don't know, if the attached log, from last mentioned version, shows something useful.

edit: and a screen record

@scorpio16v, does the scan work if you move that one file out of the search path?  If not, please post another report after moving the file out.  If the scan does work with that file out of the way, could you PM me info on the source of the file so I can acquire it for testing?
Yes, it seems, that the contained .z64 ROM is broken or maybe contains malware ?
I'll PM you a DL link for testing in a few minutes.

Here is the Crash.log, you asked for.
Is's the last auto-build version number "201501172301" (AKA Alpha 16)

Yes, it happened always in the last builds, if I enable scan for zip ROMs.

Scanning for ROMs causes an emulator crash.

Are high-res textures currently not supported in alpha 3.0 test ? (testing alpha 10 on my tablet)

Support / Re: Gles2glide64 plugin orientation issue
« on: May 13, 2014, 03:10:44 PM »
The driver was updated in the latest stock firmware some weeks ago.
I thought the N5 has the v66 driver too, because the lg g2 has it.

Is this bug still there in the actual N5 fw ?
As I understand, the same rotation bug was fixed in Dolphin emulator with Qualcomm driver v.66.
At least, on my Xperia Z1c, the bug in Dolphin and MP64+ was fixed with the fw update and driver v.66. So other Qualcomm based devices with newer updates should have the fix now.

General Discussion / Re: Raspberry Pi edition of Mupen64-AE?
« on: April 05, 2014, 01:48:12 AM »
There is a mupen64plus port included in retropie. It's an alpha. Have only test once, the RasPi overclocked @900 MHz.
Sound ist stuttering and graphics are slightly slow on Mario64. It seems, that only RICE plugin is ported.
But I must say, that I don't test the latest binary of retropie. Maybe an newer version is available ?

If you have the games in .gdi format, you can reduce the image size with the tool chdman.

A short explanation here:

for example:
Game: 18 Wheeler - American Pro Trucker v1.500 (2001)(Sega)(NTSC)(US)[!].gdi

was round about 1.2 GB

size reduced with chdman is only 241.1MB

The result on other games will differ, but it's a nice option to save space on your device.
If your computer runs OS X, you need to install the SDL framework.

Sorry, as you can see, my device shows only graphic artifacts, so Shenmue is unplayable for me.
I never had a Dreamcast and no DC emulation experience since release of reicast.

Tested some games on LG G2, connected on TV with Sony Sixaxis BT Gamepad. All on alpha r5.

Giga Wings:
<a href="" target="_blank" class="new_win"></a>

Sonic Adventure:

<a href="" target="_blank" class="new_win"></a>

Shenmue (with graphic problems on r5)

<a href="" target="_blank" class="new_win"></a>

Rayman II:

<a href="" target="_blank" class="new_win"></a>

And at least some minutes of gameplay on Crazy Taxi:
On Ouya, the game has flickering and sometimes black polygons on background. On G2, it looks much better.

So, for now, I should better stop spamming this board with my stupid videos.  ;D
