Support / Re: Mupen64plus regarding high res textures
« on: October 12, 2013, 03:17:24 AM »
Please, add hi-res textures selection to glide64 plugin! It's the fastest video plugin with best support of Zelda games for me, but I want to try hi-res textures.  :)
Thank your Paul anyway!

Wow, compiling with hard float is very hard. All external libs (ex. gcc lib, stlport, stdc++...) need to be compiled with hard float flags too  :o
I compile all libraries(except core) with GCC 4.6.2, configured globally(in toolchain settings) for ARMv6 CPU, with flags -O3 -ffast-math -ftree-vectorize -march=armv6j -mtune=arm1136jf-s -mfloat-abi=softfp -mfpu=vfp
And get little speed-up. 14-17 FPS(15-16 FPS most often) in Mario64 with libgles2n64. libgles2rice was compiled incorrectly, and unusable(most textures are invisible)...

I want to try compile emulator with completely hard float, with GCC 4.6 :)
Just installed alternative NDK build, may be in the evening I'll try...

Hmm, and why emulator work on my device with same CPU, as in X8? May be problem in Android version/screen resolution?

With GLES2Rice I have some perfomance, as with GLES2n64.
PS: I compiled GLES* libraries with Auto-vectorizaton, and unsafe optimization flags(-ffast-math -ftree-vectorize -funsafe-math-optimizations), but can't see any perfomance changes(may be ~1 FPS, but I use my CPU specific flags, like -mtune=arm1136jf-s -march=armv6j too...) :(

In Mario64 I get 12-16 FPS, in Zelda: Ocarina of Time - 7-9 :(

Oh, why Google doesn't implement OpenSL ES library in Android lesser then 2.3 :( With it possible to use hardware accelerated audio playback...

Work fine on my Orange San Francisco(MSM7227 ARM1136EJ-S). Don't know faster or not, but works. Mario64 works without visible lags and without VFP, I try other ROM later...
Sound still laggy(

You can use -mfloat-abi=softfp -mfpu=vfp for ARMv6 VFP. I think GCC from NDK should support it too...

Hi all! May be on devices without NEON you use VFP? With soft float it runs slow on 748MHz ARMv6, and older devices without VFP anyway can't play comfortly) May be I try to compile your project myself with needed flags later...
Mario64 runs ok, but sound so laggy. Why?
Did you try to run Star Wars Episode I: Racer? Some textures are invisible there(ex. car body, characters models in selection menu...).
PS. Sorry for my bad English.
