General Discussion / Re: 3.0 Alpha Testing

GLideN64 can be intensive on performance when in higher resolutions,so if you set it to 640x480 for all games,it should run much faster.
Also,if you use HW Lighting or Bloom, they will also hurt performance, and in some games,HW Lighting will trigger a crash.
The 3.0 and 3.1 variants are a bit slower due to more functionality and perfection while the 2.0 variant is faster and lacks the better rendering and has many issues.

I just realized, why isn't there an extra checkbox type for using the defaults for all games in a custom profile?
Such as unchecked is off and checked is on like they normally are,and a filled square uses the ROM Default.

That's the problem. Smash, PM, and Yoshi are slower compared even to GlideN64 3.0 and 3.1 on earlier builds. Even by the standards set by past autobuilds, they're running particularly slow.

I just got a Shield tablet in my hands the other day, and have only now been able to reap the benefits of the new GlideN64 plugin. I'm using the latest autobuild.

For the most part, the games run fantastic. I have never seen Donkey Kong 64 running so good on Android, and Mario 64 and Mario Kart are just about flawless.

However, Smash Bros., Paper Mario and Yoshi's Story seem to have regressed. They're not running as fast as they used to, and audio is suffering. Even with all the relevant settings turned down, and with the CPU usage at its highest.

IS there a setting I can tweak? Or will this be fixed in a future autobuild?

I'm in need of some real help.

I have an x86 android tablet with Lollipop. It most definitely has OpenGL ES 3.1. because I've checked it with (with an app). But I can't get any of the GlideN64 plugins to display anything.

There's some quirk with x86. Someone worked around it by inserting code into the Opengl.cpp. https://github.com/gonetz/GLideN64/issues/604

How can I fix this?

I can't get this to work at all on my new x86 Android tablet. No picture, no sound no nothing. The device is Lollipop.

I've seen other people who've had this problem and fixed it, but I don't know how to do it for myself. What do I do?

Is this still coming along? Is the Android port still in the cards?

The latency is much better on the newest alpha. Hardly any of the audio is out-of-sync with the video.

Paper Mario has an issue, though. I don't know if this is a regression or not but Text becomes invisible at various points.

So, I tried the latest alpha.

I'm not familiar with the technical nitty-gritty as you guys are, but I am amazed as how well some of these games ran. Donkey Kong 64 is actually playable now, even it does crash after exiting.

Are you guys planning on putting a "hide status bar" feature for pre-Kit Kat firmwares? Some other emulators have that and I think it would be useful here too.
Can you think of any that have this feature off the top of your head?

At the top of my head, Mame4Droid Reloaded and the Robert Broglia ".EMU" suite of emulators

Is there an APK version of the new alpha? I would like to try it.

Where did you pull that quote from, Paul? Is there a whole forum for GLideN64?
