Is there a way to email users to inform them before this is done?
Some people might be infrequent users

Hey, I'm in a similar boat! I'm teaching myself Java atm

The base language of android is Java, with a little XML thrown in to make the layout design easier. Paul suggested that i check out the Oracle Java tutorials after I finished the text book I'm reading through (almost there!).
There is also android specific tutorials that I've had a look through, which are worth a read

As for projects, I'm not sure about that. My text book has projects to work through and I guess the 2 tutorials below will probably test you to some degree with little projects.

GOOD LUCK !

Oracle Java tutorials : http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/java/index.html
Android Tutorials: http://developer.android.com/training/index.html

its all pixel density if you use the XML for your layouts, I think

Simple 2D games would be a nice start. I'm a big gamer and to make something of my own would be awesome. Even if no one plays/likes it, I'll be proud of myself!
Planning on keeping it easy to start with so I can get to grips. Any input would be awesome :D

To be honest, I had some ideas for games/apps for android phones and they had that 'engine' which pretty much made them for you. It wasn't fun however and they canned the project, so I figured f*ck it, I'll do a proper android tutorial (which recommended Eclipse as there was an android emulation plugin).
I already know how to write in DataBasic (not an OOP, its from the 70s or something) so I figured it wouldn't be too hard to pick up...

Yeah... well that plan fell on it's face because it was all java based and I didnt know java or know how a OOP language worked for that matter.

So anyway, I'm about 700 pages into this java text book (looking forward to getting to the swing library bits)

Trucking on...

hey buddy,
I really want to play CBFD too, I freakin love that game.
It is playable if you go to settings and change the video to use the 'rice' plugin, but will still be a little slow.

Paul is trying to get the functionality of MupenAE up to par, but game specific issues are on his list.

If you want to help out, there is a compatibility Wiki that you can add to:
