I think it would probably be a good idea to continue testing the current builds with an unzipped mario 64 rom. That way you can be sure the crashes are not being caused by the roms.
theres always the tiny mupen64plus.v64 rom thats included ;)

Xperia Plays are relatively cheap depending on what model you want  (especially compared to pandoras) ;D

when I try to resume I get the mupen logo.
Yes, the resume function is one of the things that isn't hooked up yet.  Like everything else, it is written (obviously), but still needs to be connected to the menu click.  I really should have hooked up the major things like resume and the plug-in chooser before I posted the apk, but my head is still pounding (probably had too much coffee last night, haha)

yeah thats probably it, ive only tried unzipped roms *edit* zipped roms crash me
Yes, I disabled the zip reading code until I get the rest of the GUI up and running.  This will be the next thing I fix.

also just something i've noticed, Banjo Tooie seems to work better with the older versions of mupen64plus android edition than the newer ones  :P
That would seem to indicate it is accessing memory outside of where it is supposed to be..  Since recent builds are using up more of the available memory, it becomes more likely that this will result in a crash.
Here is typical behavior with banjo tooie:
The rom loads fine as shows the intro perfectly, and then when the scene changes to the file select, it crashes. this happens with any scene change
and yeah thanks for the gui :D

@epic_bubble, it only does that for me on resuming a game because it defaults to the 1st rom in /sdcard/app-data/[mupen64plus]/roms/ which is the mupen64plus logo. Loading other my other roms is fine until trying to resume.

if i understand Paul right, the gui is a separate thread and will be minimized or something of the sort so the emulator has focus, allowing it to engulf as much memory as it needs  ;)

It would be nice, if you integarte my analog-key script from my USBJoystick Center app, for analog joystick moves with normal key mappings (DPAD left = left / strength=0...64, DPAD right = right / strength=0...64, ...)
Sure, I can add that.  I'll look into it after I get the current update finished and well-tested.  Do you happen to know if those high key-codes will pass through a NativeActivity as well (for the XPeria Play folks)?  Not that they'd actually need another joystick..
multiplayer lol

Like I said before, if you wanna play games on your android phone and you cant afford an xperia play the next best thing is http://www.icontrolpad.com/

Its got two analog sticks too which is great for n64 and PS1 games, I just wish it looked as good as that other controller.
i actually have an icontrolpad that i won online ;D (srysly i didn't pay a cent)

One thing i would like is the "T1 or T0 framebuffer emulation" or whatever it is so that the pause menu of zelda64 will actually show link instead of the random textures =/
