The latest update to Mupen64plus FZ should resolve the issue that occured with Hi Res texture packs, where zipped texture images from the texture pack become unzipped into your Galley app.
If the latest Mupen64plus FZ update didn't fix the issue, try the following:
To stop texture images from your Hi Res texture packs from being unzipped into to your android device's gallery, you need to create a ".nomedia" file inside the CoreConfig folder.
If that doesn't work, you might have to put ".nomedia" files in your Hi Res texture pack folder.
The contents inside of folders that have a file inside named
".nomedia" will not be read as media files (images, video's etc) by android media apps.
Here's how to do it:
Check if there's a .nomedia file inside the CoreConfig folder, located in the mupen64plus folder. It should be there after the latest update.
If it's not there, either create the .nomedia file or copy one from another folder and put it in the CoreConfig folder. If that isn't working, then try putting some .nomedia files inside the texture pack 's folder:
- If you have used the Hi Res texture pack with Mupen64plus FZ then go into: mupen64plus-fz, CoreConfig, UserData, mupen64plus.
Here's where your Hi Res texture pack will be installed.
Once you have located the Hi Res texture pack folder, open it to see the ROM's internal name folder eg: (THE LEGEND OF ZELDA)
Open it again to the texture pack name folder eg: (Nato's Cell Shaded Texture Pack)
Open again to see the texture folder, which may be organised into different texture categories eg: Water/Environments/Effects etc.
If your standard file explorer can't open the texture folders, you can download other free file explorers from google play that can do it.
Whatever the case, if there's a folder with texture images in it just hit options and create a new FILE named as ".nomedia" inside that same folder containing the images.
If your file explorer doesn't let you create FILES, you can simply copy the .nomedia file from mupen64plus-fz, CoreConfig folder.
A .nomedia file is just a command, it's fine to copy them.
NOTES:
* Make sure you create a ".nomedia" FILE, not folder.
* It's a good idea to make a copy of your Texture Pack before editing it and put it outside of the mupen64plus-fz folder, you may need to completely delete the original pack from the mupen64plus folder before adding it back in with the ".nomedia" files to take effect.
* Once you have made a copy of your zipped texture pack, delete the old images from the Gallery. Make sure to delete old texture images and thumbnails from the DCIM folder, then clear the cache.
