Hey guys, Noticed some new things going on here so I thought I'd  start testing some things here and there from version 10. I tried out wwf no mercy and everything was pretty much the same aside from a few sound hiccups here and there. I just got a new device however so for a little while I'll  be able to test from 2 different  phones. I tried it out on the note 4 and got mirrored textures if that's  what you call it with rice video plug-ins only. Could not reproduce  it on the note 2.  I'll  come back and upload pics in a bit.

Rice is a mess now with repeating graphics meshing all over the screen in most cases and black borders are covered in it as well.
The death pits like the one in Cauldron Keep on Banjo-Tooie also have repeating graphics.

@Paul - If you haven't built alpha 12 yet, hold off.  I'm going to add one more change to master.

Edit: Ok use this one for alpha 12: https://github.com/mupen64plus-ae/mupen64plus-ae/commit/762b18e2b1d77ee2536537c85ba64064e92c0318

High-res textures are only supported in Rice for now.  The front-end for importing them is convoluted at the moment; you may find it easiest to just extract them manually to
Code: [Select]
<sdcard>/mupen64plusae-v3-alpha/CoreConfig/UserData/mupen64plus/hires_texture/

Hello :)
I'm new here and since getting my hands on a Nvidia Shield tablet along with 3 Nvidia Wireless controllers (want 4 total so i can play mario kart etc with my friends). I've been attempting to use mupen64plus ae for my emulation needs, though i've been experiencing lots of issues and crashes which i would love to help ressolve if possible. I'm a normal android developer so i do have some understanding of how things work, though i've not yet played with native c in android. I attempted to get the code up and running locally, but have trouble getting everything i need to work on my windows 8.1 machine (cygwin just wont install for me).

It seems that i'm supposed to be able to send you guys crash logs from within the alpha app, however the logcat seems to indicate that's not working. Below is the crash i experience almost all the time when exiting emulation. My nividia shield tablet is running the latest OTA 5.0.1 android btw.

Also had problems with some games not recognizing all shield controllers for the multiple players, even though the mulator and android itself were able to detect them. As well as skipping frames, laggy image and audio.

Please let me know if i can do more to help. I will probably attempt getting the code to compile and install locally again later, but i'm gonna  take a break from it for now :)

Awesome, thanks for the detailed info.

Crash logs should be saved to mupen64plusae-v3-alpha/CrashLogs.  You can also access the logcat from the main gallery, but that is a different feature.

You don't need cygwin to build the app in windows.  You just need Eclipse, Android-SDK, and Android-NDK.  After you clone the repository, open Eclipse and Import "Existing Android Code Into Workspace".  Then right-click the project, select Android Tools -> "Add Native Support".  Provide a dummy name like "Foo" then look in the jni folder and delete Foo.cpp.  You might also need to specify the NDK/SDK locations in Eclipse settings (going off the top of my head).

(quoted from the 2.5 thread here since I didn't want to resurrect it)

And Tegra K1 appears to have an offset of -0.95. Tested with Glide64+SM64 star road since it shows incorrect offsets the most.

Closest existing profile would be O2.. I suppose the shadows are floating off the ground with offset -1.5?  Just wanted to confirm before adding another profile.  Do you have the hardware info output?

I'd tried that too, but for some reason when i try to tell Eclipse of the NDK location, it just says its an invalid path :S

Not sure if the profile information is supposed to be for me? If so, i dont know what to do with it i'm afraid.

Would this be what you're asking for?

Has to be -0.95. With the O2 profile, when I'm on the top of the hill outside the castle in Mario Star Road, the water visually floods over the ground, when it should be in the moat only. Shadows incidentally are fine, but -0.95 is the best balance between flood and shadow clipping.

Also, sorry to bring it up again, but whatever version of Gillou's build I have does NOT crash when exiting, unlike master which crashes on some pthread issue. I believe it was the last Banjo-Tooie dynarec fix build. Additionally, I prefer how Gillou moved the rendering resolution and screen stretch settings from Global settings into the emulation profiles, useful with the rice wide screen hack setting for example.
