Help
« on: September 14, 2012, 03:38:44 PM »
I am playing Zelda ocarina of time and the app keeps freezing up and not saving my game. When I choose load it freezes and when I choose resume it takes me back to the beginning of the game.

The resume option only works if you have "Auto Save" enabled in the Settings menu (it is disabled by default), so that is why that part isn't working.

As for the load state not working, is it just a particular save state file, or does this happen any time you save-state then load-state?

Try switching to another slot (with Slot++), then save-state when there aren't any scene changes happening.  Wait a bit for it to finish, and then do a load-state to see if it works.  Note that it takes a few seconds to load-state, but if it freezes indefinitely, then there is some other problem I'll have to track down.

That's an odd problem.  Anybody else experience this?  I don't recall having any problem with that level, but I'd have to start a new game to check.  Maybe someone has a save-state or game-save close to there for testing?

I got it figured out. I restarted the phone and it started working.  I have never used an emulator before and apologize for all the seemingly stupid problems and questions. Is there a way to keep from having to restart the game every time someone calls me?

Not yet.  This will be fixed when I get rid of the SDL layer, which doesn't have any way of regaining the GL context once you leave the game.  This is high on my priority list, when I get back to working on the project in the near future.  I'm a little embarrassed that I haven't got around to it yet.. I've been talking about doing it for a few months now.
