USB Mass Storage Device Bug

Has anyone received one of the following error messages when your device is NOT plugged in USB Mass Storage Device mode?

Write error (plugged in USB Mass Storage Device mode?)

or:

App data not accessible (plugged in USB Mass Storage Device mode?)

If so, I'd like to track down what other conditions can cause this problem (other than the known issue where the device is plugged in USB Mass Storage Device mode, which I have no control over).  Once I know the causes, I can hopefully write workarounds, or at least display more useful error messages for the user.

It happens when the SD card is unmounted, either by mass storage device or through Settings (which doesn't need USB plugged in)

Thanks, that's a good point.  Those toast messages can be hard to read, so I'll need to keep the error message as short and simple as possible.  Any thoughts on this?  I'm thinking something like this:

SD card or storage not accessible.  Check cable or mount settings.

You can make it twice, so people can have time to read/understand what it means. I think that if its twice and long time it will be enough, even if you write it larger.
