Random freezes with gles2n64 plug-in
« on: November 12, 2012, 09:57:17 PM »
I've only had time to test Mario64 on my Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.1.1.  The game randomly freezes, generally when there is a scene change (such as when you press start to play) or when you load a save-state.  It seems to only affect gles2n64 (although I haven't had a lot of time to test - it didn't occur when I had gles2rice attached instead).  The freeze is apparently random: one place where it froze the first time did not freeze there again the second time I ran it.

Could I get a few of you all to run some more tests to confirm whether it is limited to gles2n64, see if there are any settings (such as frame skip) that have any effect on the problem, and if it affects a lot of devices or only certain ones?

Why do you still ask people to test an outdated build when the problem was already fixed in your repository?

This thread was started more that a few hours ago.  I haven't had time to test the latest commit, but obviously I'll report back if the problem is resolved.

BTW, I have other priorities in my life right now than constantly micro-managing a github repository.  If you notice things like this you are certainly free to post your own test builds for folks to try.  That's what the forum is for.

As Catherine pointed out, Sven had fixed the problem with gles2n64.  I haven't had time to test much (need to get my but to work!) so please test this build instead of the outdated one.  Thanks everyone!

Thankfully the vast majority of forum members seem to realize this.  Thanks again for all your hard work and your efforts to build a community.  I really appreciate the chance you've given me to test out new ideas with the front-end.
