.DAT Hi Res Textures?

I was just wondering if loading .DAT textures would ever be possible, as it seems that as of now only the unpacked textures work. The main reason I'm asking this is the Djipi texture packs for the Zelda games.

Those will require a port of the glide plugin, which is on my todo list.

You can also extract the dat files https://bitbucket.org/ecsv/glide64_cache_extract
But Rice has some bugs in mupen64plus-ae and the fixes from https://bitbucket.org/ecsv/mupen64plus-video-rice/commits/all/tip/ecsv/hires_hacks arent included

I need some help. Im pretty sure I had .DAT textures workinf for Zelda in June but now it doesnt work, crashes the app. Ive got the latest build and have the 2011 dat textures. The path is like this:

/storage/emulated/0/mupen64plusae-v3-alpha/CoreConfig/UserData/hires_texture/THE LEGEND OF ZELDA/texture files

Im using Xiaomi Mi4C which has x64 cpu

The app crashes when I try to load the DAT file. I load Zelda and app crashes and exits. I've read that DAT is not supported but HTC is?

So I ended up trying this out and I'm not having much luck. I'm not getting it to crash, but that's probably because I'm not trying it with the rice plugin.

It seems like the only plugin that supports the .DAT files is the Glide64 plugin and it also seems that we have explicitly disabled support for it for some reason. It seems that we are not compiling any of the code that does all the high resolution texture stuff for Glide64.

Well I managed to extract the .DAT and pack it to .HTC and it loads just a few gfx bugs

It will crash If I select Opengles 3.1 which my phone supports (on Android 5.1, tried stock MIUI rom and CM12.1) but works on Opengles 3.0
